I'm curious why she picks Katoy as her nickname. I hope Katoy and Katoey (male-to-female transgender) are not the same meaning in Thai. But the word does sound almost similar though! :D

I'm Thai. Katoy (pronounced ga - toy but this "t" pronounced like 'd' in pinyin) is one type of crab and Katoey (actually it's said ''Kra - thei (-ei like Bejing and th- like Thai)" means what you've said :)
so they don't have the same meaning :)
